DVD STUDIO PRO - Compiler file error

Hi

I get "Compiler file error" when i go to burn a dvd
I read a few replies, one where Ken says to create a disc image , how do I do that?

Thanks, did that, the only thing is the Build & Format button is not lighted and can't be clicked..
any ideas?

wait a second i went and added a new location and i think it's working

well this is strange went thru all the formatting and the dvd didn't pop out like it always does and nothing was burned on the dvd... it doesn't work..
what else do i need to do?
sorry i sound so amateur i have burned hundreds upon hundred of discs before i mistakenly deleted my pars files last week..


is there something i'm missing?

You may need to reassemble your project, starting fresh.

Have you trashed your DVD SP Prefs?

i didn't think i did..

what's weird is i have always done every burn with the output device selected as the optiarc dvd rw ad-5630a
with lossless linking not switching to the hard drive like your link suggests..
for destination output device

that makes it sound like i am burning to the hard drive and not to the dvd..
is that correct?

If you want a Disk Image then yes, you select the Hard drive.

i went in a made all of my preferences a folder on a ext drive
now when i burn after musing i get this message
the recording device reported the illegal request: unknown device
do you think i need to reinstall dvd sp now..?

Your Prefs must live on your boot drive.
