Re: Applying a filter in a multiclip

Applying a filter in a multiclip (March 07, 2010 02:29PM) David
Two angle multiclip, need to do a little color-correction on one angle. How do I apply the filter to all clips of that angle without having to drag it to each individual clip? I drag it to the clip, get a pop-up that says "apply to source angle" and "apply to multiclip." I choose multiclip, but that only puts it on that one clip. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
DD

Open up the button list window.
search for 'reveal affiliated clips in front window'
Drag that button to your button bar on the timeline.
Click on the clip/angle on the timeline (put the scrub bar over the clip as well)
now click on the 'reveal affiliated clips in front window' button.
All the clips for that angle will now be selected.
drag your pre made corrected color correction filter to the clips.

Thanks dkag, but I didn't find "reveal affiliated clips in front window", but I did discover this button bar stuff. Been editing about 7 years and never knew it was there. Cool.

I think this button may be new to FCP7...?
What version do you have?
I do remember doing this in FCP6 too, but i did it differently.
i forget how...

try the reveal master multiclip button...?
Try rightclicking on the clip in the browser, then select 'reveal affiliated clips in front sequence'...

Update:
drag your pre made corrected color correction filter to the clips. <<<< Drag the filter to the clips on the timeline, so you are dragging to the timeline and not the canvas or viewer...
