Quicktime out of synch (June 15, 2008 07:46AM) PPI155
I recently updated to FCP 5.1.4.

I wanted to use a Quicktime movie as the basis for a new project.

The movie was originally made in FCP2.

When I play the movie in Quicktime the sound is out of synch. It used to be fine. I'm using QT 7.5.

Am I doing something wrong?

(I guess so, but what?)

Thanks

Is the frame rate of the QT movie the same as your current FCP Sequence?

Thanks for your response. I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not sure how to tell the frame rate of the QT movie. My FCP Sequence is set for DVNTSC 48 khz. As far as I can tell the QT movie is the same. The only reference I can find to time frame is the Codec DV/DVCPRO - NTSC in the info panel.

There doesn't seem to be a problem with other QT movies of the same generation so perhaps it's human error, but I've used this movie a lot in different projects and never had the same problem.

I have just resynched the audio/video by hand (it was only a few frames off) but I would like to know the answer to the mystery.

You can highlight the clip in the browser or in the timeline, right click and go to 'item properties/format" It will tell you what the frame rate is.

Hmmmm, the new 7.5...could this be a new bug?
