Something I should know

Hi Y'all,

I'm working with FCP 5.1.4 on an iMac running OS 10.6.8. I'm nearing the finish of a project and the client wants an Mp4 file.

I tried once before to make one of these and failed in all my efforts. What's the trick?

Export a Quicktime movie (self-contained) from your timeline. Drop that into Compressor which you set to Mpeg 4 and set the destination to the drive of your choosing. It's that simple. No trick. You can export as Mpeg 4 using Quicktime Conversion within FCP but I prefer to use Compressor.

As it turns out the version of Compressor I'm running does not have an Mp4 option. However I was able to make one using MPEG Streamclip.
