Converting 1080 dvcpro50 to 720 mpeg2

Hello All,
What is the fastest cleanest way to convert 1080dvcpro to 720 mpeg2. I have FCP7, fcpx , avid with sorenson squeeze 6 and the adobe CS6. I tried to make a 720 timeline but the images are not sharp. This is for broadcast and I was blindsided by their codec.

I outputted qt conversion 720 h.264 file then I sent to compressor for mpeg2 transport. It looked fine here, my fingers are crossed.
