HELP: Turn off Start/Stop on Capture? (June 15, 2008 12:18PM) zzzvariety
I know people are in love with this, but it drives me crazy...

How do I turn off the Start/Stop capture function? I'm using HDV Sony, capturing in HDV on Final Cut 5.0. I know there's an easy way but I just can't find it.

I don't know that you can in FCP 5.0.

The ability to turn it on and off was not 'fixed' until FCP 6.0.2 (I believe).

It would be in clip settings, see attached.

Oh no!!! Really?

There must be another way... To have the default be something only certain people would need is asinine. Curious though, how do you do turn it off in 6.0?

I don't think you could turn it off until FCP 6.0.2

It's a bug.

Just uncheck the box that says 'Create new clip on start/stop'. Unchecking it has never failed for me.
