Re: Taking a light out

Taking a light out (July 24, 2014 08:01AM) Caleb
I'm using Final Cut Studio 7.
I recorded a lecture, and it looks pretty good, accept there is a light on the wall right next to/behind my speaker. its off to the left hand side of the screen, and with a little color correction, my speaker and the rest of the screen looks just fine, but there is this blaring light on the left hand side of the screen. Any suggestions on how to get that light out of my shot, or reduce just that light without making it look like I've put a matte over my video?

Thanks.

Caleb

Caleb, is the camera moving, following the speaker, or is it a static shot.
I have taken out exit signs in the background by just cutting a patch of an adjacent wall area, feather it and lay it on top of the exit sign. But, this was a red sign on a black, dark area of the shot, so it was easy.

Good luck,
Trig

Hi Trig.
The camera is static, and I have already tried to use the work around you have suggested to no avail. However, I forgot that I happen to have two side camera shots, and one of them actually is looking pretty straight onto the speaker, so I think I'm good.

Thanks!
