Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt alternatives?

Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt alternatives? (October 27, 2014 01:50PM) JavaPop
Does anyone know of anything else similar to the Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt Converter?

I have a Beta SP deck with sVideo and component out (and about 50 tapes to digitize). I believe I'll get better colorspace via the component outputs. I've been looking to see if there was anything else on the market now. I like the idea of being able to run a line in with thunderbolt.

You could try the El Gato Game Capture HD. It creates an H.264 file but it can support the following resolutions:
1080p (simultaneous 60 fps pass-through but captures at 30fps)
1080i
720p (60 or 30 fps capture)
576p
576i
480p
480i
288p
240p

That's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than the wimpy, underpowered Blackmagic Intensity could ever even hope to do in a million years. It's biggest drawback, however, is that it can't write to ProRes. It's also USB2.

It can capture via HDMI or the component video breakout cable.
