audio bug in compound clips (June 04, 2015 10:54PM) Sandro
Hi everyone,
I seem to have found a bug in compound clip audio. If I create a compound clip and I try to play it in the browser, FCP X sends the audio to channels 3 and 4. I didn’t notice till now as my mixer had been set up to route channels 3/4 to output 1/2 for an earlier project.
In the timeline everything is normal.
Now when I select the compound clip in the browser and go to “modify settings” in the inspector and change audio from “automatic” to “stereo” it does send the audio to channel 1/2, while I can keep it dual mono in the audio inspector settings. This doesn’t work if I select mono instead of automatic in “modify settings”.
Am I missing something or is this a bug. I think this changed with 10.2.

Hi Sandro,

Audio channel configuration has changed in 10.2. Try to resolve the issue by following these steps:

1. Open Audio MIDI Setup.
2. Select your audio output device in the audio device list.
3. Click Configure Speakers in the bottom right of the window.
4. Click Multichannel.
5. Choose Stereo from the pop-up menu and click Done.

Best wishes,

Ronny
