hi ken

but observe this: i import something in HDV, no copy, no optimize, just leave file there, put it in timeline and share...in the menu appears something like the picture attached : how can i know that i am exporting the same codec, without selecting again HDV and compressing again ? or i am missing something?

thanks

Hi Gaz,

As HDV uses a long GOP (15 frames per GOP) compression scheme (H.262/MPEG-2 Part 2) when you cut clips into the timeline you will be cutting up the GOPs. The video is going to have to be recompressed on export.
