Hey Mitchell,

Actually this happens in every NLE.

To prevent this problem in FCP X: select the title clip on the timeline, then go to the Inspector > Video tab and reset the Transform tool.

If you want to reposition titles you should not use the Transform tool, neither in the Inspector nor on the Viewer. Instead you can use the X and Y position parameters in the Inspector > Text tab. If the specific title template does not have published X and Y positions in the Text tab, you can reposition any title just by dragging on it in the Viewer.

That's correct, but the problem was that you were dragging the entire video frame and not just the title.

To change the position of a title by dragging:

- Double-click the title on the timeline or in te Viewer.
- On the title in the Viewer you will see a white line, with in the middle of the line a small white circle.
- To change the position of the title in the Viewer you just need to drag on the little circle.
