My external drive went down and I need to edit a job (on FCP Studio 7) with just basic dissolves and clean up editing. No layers, etc. Is it OK to edit just using my internal (1TB) drive on my iMac i7 as I need to get this done by tomorrow and can't wait to get another external Thunderbolt drive...Hoping it won't cause any problems...thanks....

Hi Phil,

Yes, as long as you have enough open space on your boot hard drive you can use it until you are able to replace your bad drive.

As a point of interest, often times, newbies to FCP will be using their boot drive without even being aware that they are.
