Need Better Quality for DVD...from FCP 7

Need Better Quality for DVD...from FCP 7 (July 27, 2015 10:47AM) UptownVideo
I have a project that was shot in 1080i (16X9 aspect) by someone I hired. I edited in FCP 7 in Pro Res (not HQ) in the timeline (the video is 1hr 25 mins. long). I tried an export to iDVD, but it's very noisy (mainly because a lot of the video was on the dark side and it has a lot of noise in the dark areas). I decided to give it another try in DVD SP. Any suggestions how I can set DVD SP to yield the best quality when I burn it to DVD. It looks much worse on the DVD (from iDVD) then it looked in the FCP 7 Timeline, so I need optimal settings for DVD SP to keep the noise to a minimum...Thanks....

Phil

How does your exported self-contained movie look before you go to m2v. Try it at full screen in the QT player.
