dropped frames from mbp causes to lose whole recording?

OMG. just one night mare after another. I shot a beautiful yoga thing and it was a live event so can't redo. When I clicked stop on the recording from the lap top it said dropped frames can't record?!! WTF? I don't care about 1 dropped frame on a 10 min. clip!!! Please tell me this damn curse of a laptop has it in it somewhere and I can deal with some dropped frames. I grew up with sd tape in to a G4. lol.

Any hope or is it gone?

What did you record with, camera/iphone/computer, codec, etc…?
How did you transfer recording footage?
Kinda need more info to help.
Dropped frames is mostly a playback issue, so shouldn't cause any data loss.
Default location should be in your Movies folder in Finder.
