Codec NOT found!

Im working on a project using FCP7 and trying to insert a jpeg background underneath other jpegs as part of an opening sequence. This has never happened to me before but for some reason I'm getting a codec not found error when i try to add a transition "fade" to the jpeg.

I added a screen cap to show the matter. Files should all be fine and theres no issue adding a fade to that particular file until i attempt to slide it under the other files.

Any help on this would be great as I've been trying to figure it out for a couple hours now!

Just noticed that this isn't an issue with the bottom track...seems to be an issue with stacking transitions bc when i delete the top transition and put one on the bottom it takes...together one won't render.
