Keyboard instead of mouse? (December 18, 2015 02:43AM) jrosson
Folks,
In FCP X is there a way to highlight and use keystrokes to accomplish the audio fades -- without grabbing the little ball with the mouse and dragging it?
We're aware of the comma and period shortcuts to move the clip edge -- but grabbing that little ball is a pain.
Thank you,
JR

Hi JR,

You shouldn't have any trouble grabbing the audio fade handles. If you do have trouble with this because the audio section in your clip is too small, you can make the audio bigger or smaller by pressing CTRL+ALT+ Arrow up or down.

If for some reason you prefer not to use the audio handles, you can add audio keyframes without using the mouse. Put your playhead at the spot where you want the fade to start and press ALT+K to add a keyframe. Then add another keyframe to where you want the fade to end and adjust the volume of the keyframe to create the fade. But the audio handles are much faster.

Best wishes,

Ronny
