Glint Effect in Motion 5.2.3 does not effect Bezier Tool line

When I apply the Glint effect to line which I have created with the Bezier Tool, it has no effect. It should tint the line yellow (see pic). Yet it works in the tutorial I'm following.
Any idea why?

Fixed it by moving the line in front of the light. I had wrongly assumed that tinting the Glint effect would be enough.
