Hi Guys,

I'm getting a notice that I've been infected with malware. (OS 10.6.8)

What's the best software to protect against this and get rid of it?

Thanks CV. However, on Ken's recommendation I installed ClamX AV. It detected several baddies, I cleared them and now both my Macs are running way better. In my case it was Google Chrome - not a website - that alerted me. This happened shortly after I'd stupidly installed (then uninstalled) Mac Keeper.

Yes. I learned too late about Mac Keeper. With all my years experience with Macs I can't believe I didn't research it before installing it.

What do you think is the best browser? Chrome runs beter than any of the other ones I've tried.

I've always preferred Safari but I'm running OS 10.6.8 and Safari is updated as far as it will go with this OS and has limitations. Since your earlier Chrome comments I've switched to Firefox for most browsing and it's fast and stable.
