Re: FCP6 and Synology NAS won't play legacy video clips

I'm running FCP6 on a 2008 MacPro running Snow Leopard (10-6-8) . All my files are kept on a Synology DS1512+ 5 bay NAS drive. Everything has been fine with this set-up for many years. Hey if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Fast forward to 2017 and I need to modify a project created/edited in 2014 but the clips won't play from within FCP and just appear white. The clips won't even play by double clicking on them via the finder (using Quicktime 7). JPEGS are the same yet PNG's are ok. However the clips will play using an El Capitan (10-11-6) drive in the same machine via the finder using Quicktime 10.4 but not from within FCP. Anyone had similar problems using a Synology NAS?

Sounds like it's broke. Time to fix it.
