Re: Specific Mpeg2 settings from FCP7

Hi There,

i am using Final Cut 7 and I need to export an mpeg 2 file-I assume the best way to do this is through Compressor-which I know very little about!

The settings I need to use are attached.
I have used the settings for program stream in Compressor but the client has said
Please could you resend & match. The audio bit rate needs reducing and the video bit rate needs increasing.

Can you help me adjust them to fit with the spec?

If, by looking at your screenshot, you are submitting to the UK Channel 4 network and you are not competent in Compressor then I would suggest that you take your exported master to a Post house to have it converted to broadcast spec. The Uk broadcasters are very demanding when it comes to delivery specs and even though it may on paper, fit the bill, it may still fail tech review and they will throw it back at you. Having said all that, they stopped accepting 720-576 years ago unless it was historical.
What are your project settings in FCP?

The project is HD-I thought it was strange they wanted SD.
I think I will take your advice and get it done by a pro!
