out of sync

A friend has been shooting a video using an iPad mini and iPhone 6. She is using the mics on the devices. When I edit the pieces using multiclip in FCP7, the audio slowly goes out of sync. Sometimes it's 2 frames and at worse it's 26 frames. I'm planning to get a mic and adapter (suggestions on what type would be more than welcome!!) but in the meantime, any suggestions on why the audio slips out of sync. An otherwise easy edit is driving me nuts! And there is no indication in my timeline (ie: -03), I discover it by visually seeing and hearing the lack of sync. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Make sure the audio (and video) match the Sequence settings in FCP. It sounds like the recording device may have recorded the audio at a odd bit rate and/or sampling rate. If it doesn't match the Sequence settings in FCP, change the settings, or use Soundtrack Pro, QuickTime Pro or other app to export a file that does match.
