Hi all, i've run in to this error a few times now when trying to add transitions to nested sequences. My timeline viewer goes red and says i must close the current window. So i close the timeline window re-add the transition and all is well. This happened on Leopard and Tiger for me, both running FCP 5.1.4, am i doing anythign wrong?
Thanks
Mike

Hi Ken, i do experience this issue on two mac computers, both are running FCP 5.1.4 on OSX 10.4.11 (iMac) and OSX 10.5.4 (Macbook). I may be doing something wrong but recently i have found it very time efficient to add a cross dissolve at the start and end of a clip which on a lone clip creates either a fade up or fade down. When i sometimes try this on a nested clip i get the error message. Invariably the clip will have an image with some livetype on the above track.
Cheers
Mike

What about handles?

Hi Ken, in these instances i haven't been allowing handles because FCP creates a fade as there is only one clip being used. I hear what you are saying though. I need to allow an extra few seconds which i then trim back for the handles?
