Starting to get things organised, which is a great feeling!.

Just have one question, I have had to import some SD PAL footage into the system for edit. At this point just not too sure how to handle it with respect to converting it to "widescreen" or 4:3 'full'.

I am using a Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4k to import the video. I see within the controls there are a few settings to convert to widescreen on the fly. I chose them, but it still imports into FCPX as SD - with black bands down each side of the screen.

Is it best to convert on the fly while digitising - or still edit in SD, but widen the video upon DVD authoring?.

This might help me to not spend too much time with trial and error.
