DVD_RTAV

We have a DVD-RW disc recorded on a Panasonic PRV-9000 dvd recorder that has this content:

A DVD_RTAV folder with two files, VR_MANGR.IFO and VR_MOVIE.VRO.

We can see the video in the finder window, without sound, but cannot play it in any of our dvd players. We need the audio-video extracted for import into FCP. Anyone know any method to do this? Thank you.

Thanks Ken, but Streamclip didn't do it. I tried and the message was "They're not VOB files."

If you check the user's manual for the PRV-9000 you should see that there are two record modes; Video and VR. Furthermore, it clearly states in most of Pioneer's manuals to use the Video mode if yoiu want the disc to be more compatible with other DVD players.

Try re-recording in the Video mode and that should produce a normal DVD-Video disc.

David,

The video already been recorded thusly beforehand. We just need to free it from that format. How?
