pen tool markers on dark clips

Often the clips in my timeline are dark. ( film strip mode - how I like to edit )
Pen tool markers on opacity line are black.
These markers get lost and bunched up etc.

is there an easy toggle to view the timeline clips, or other quick way to make them more visible?
