Fixing AVCHD Smudge

Fixing AVCHD Smudge (March 25, 2010 12:58AM) phansen
AVCHD - Canon - Horizontal Smudge ( noise ) shows up in a few shots ( not even due to poor lighting - just at random.
What is this?

1.) Is there a camera fix - repair for this, or is it inherent. Net posts say little about it.

2.) Any tips in post to assit in noise correction ( soft blurs, plug ins, gamma, etc ) Tired a few. No luck.

Thanks

PH

What Canon model? Did this noise occur during a pan or tilt? Maybe you can post a grab showing the noise? CHV has a good noise reducer but I love the Neat Video noise reducer the best.

This is a different type of video noise than one would get from shooting in low light or using an increased gain. It's also not a smudge as the grab shows very articulated blocks which is different than the noise or jelly you might get from a tilt or pan. I'm no technician but it appears that perhaps a sensor or transport is out of alignment.
