FCS via airport to Hard drive
Hi all,
I was wondering is it possible and workable to use FCP, Compressor and DVD Pro in combination with Airport Extreme and a external USB hard drive ? I personally think (but no experience) it is to slow, I hope somebody has tested it or even better work in a wireless configuration. Please let me know.
Regards
Marco

I actually worked in an editing studio in Further Education as a teccie back when G5s were top of the range. The tutor was enraptured with the sexiness of his wireless network and work was kept on a server connected to the g5s (20 in number ) by the wireless network.
IT WAS A NEVER ENDING PAIN IN THE BUM. IT TORTURED ME.
Maybe it would be better now but I wouldn't bet on it.

Thanks Peter, that's what I expected.
Hi Ken,
If the USB drive is the bottleneck do you know any solution for it?

USB is told to be too slow anyway despite running on a similar data rate, as it sends the data in little packets while FireWire supplies a steady data flow - (I hope I quoted this right).
