HD Output from iMac

What are my options for outputting HD footage from an iMac. Also, when I switch to full screen is that signal considered HD?

Forgive me. I would like to output to a HDTV. I just purchased a HPX170 and would like to see how it looks on a HDTV.

I just want to view my edited project from my iMac to a HDTV. After the footage has been loaded and edited from my HPX170.
What type of connection is need to do this?

Ahhhh ... for viewing while editing you can use the HDTV as a second computer monitor. Note that it will not be in the proper color space for accurate grading or evaluation, but it will serve a second computer monitor. If you want to accurately judge the edit, you'll need a device like I linked to above.
