I have never had a professional Monitor. I use TVs.
I have All Semi Pro Gear ( Mac Pros , FCP7, 5Ds, 60Ds, and Assorted Sony HDV )
My audience is mostly Web, and Film Festivals and Cable TV .
Does it make sense to have a Pro Monitor?
I am thinking of adding it to the mix, if only as a teaching tool for those moving on into Film and Television ( I teach media )
I have $900 or so. Any input and vendor suggestions are appreciated.

If you're outputting for TV (including Cable TV or DVD viewing), it makes perfect and practical sense (to me) to have a professional monitor. However, you won't find one for $900.00 unless it's used.

Thanks. I had no idea they were so pricey. I researched but was confused by the options
and language.
I have a good relationship with Comcast, who supports education in our area.
Perhaps they have a used one to donate.
I will use the money for Steady cam and track and dolly ( easy dolly ).
