Setting up a Sony Z7 with FCP

I have a friend who has just bought a Z7 and is having loads of problems getting the footage in FCP. Does anyone have this cam and know the exact set up for FCP and the Camera.

I have some suggestions for you from Rick Young

Just had a look - as it is I am capturing right this moment from my Z7 and have no trouble at all.

A few things to suggest:

(1) try the camera on another FCP system - it may be something is corrupt in FCP.

(2) Check things like: is down convert switched on on the camera - is FCP set to capture the format the camera is outputting.

(3) What was the camera set to when recording? ie DV, DVCam, HDV 1080 50i, HDV 1080 25P - or American versions of these.

All it needs is for one thing to be out from what was recorded and a different setting in FCP and it will not work.
