getting a .pptx slideshow file into FCP7

getting a .pptx slideshow file into FCP7 (August 09, 2013 10:45AM) hamcomm
Our client wants us to include a 15 minute slideshow at the head of our 2hr. FCP7 edited project. The slideshow was presented live on four occasions without any problems. (It was played back on a mac laptop into a projector)

We have had the file sent to us twice. We can open it on a PC with powerpoint but we cannot get it to play back as a slideshow - we can only access the slides one at a time and there is no audio.

We tried opening it on a Mac laptop and we received a pop up saying "cannot find Clinton_Family_Theater.m4v file - The slideshow will not play back properly without this file"

We need to advise our client about sending the complete slideshow with ALL the files, so does anyone know the procedure of exporting and emailing a powerpoint slideshow .pptx file so that we get all the files and it will run properly with all the slides, video clips and audio all working???

Then what is the procedure to get the working .pptx slideshow into FCP7? Thanks

If the PPTX presentation without any transitions or other 'fancy' effects, the simplest method would be to export each slide from PowerPoint (or Keynote) as TIFF images. That would only leave obtaining the .m4v file from the client and editing it into the proper place.

If there were a lot of transitions and/or other 'fancy' effects, open the PPTX file in Keynote and export a QuickTime movie. Of course, just like the method above, with this method you'll also need to obtain the .m4v file from the client.
