Hi Ed,

Thank you for the detailed explanation. But this external workflow has become quite unnecessary since the last two updates of FCP X.

Just leave your stock footage clips in their original folder and import any clips you wish in FCP X using "leave files in place". Even when you import thousands of clips your Library will remain lean and small. Then in FCP X you just use keywords, ranges, favorites and any of the multiple organizing features to organize and trim your clips if you want. Anything you show in your screenshots can be done right within FCP X. You can do multiple trims on a clip, you can export clips and segments of clips to any given device with a watermark, with timecode, etc... No need for any third-party application to do this.
