Using 16/9 DV Standard Def. Footage w/HD DSLR Footage

I have some 16/9 SD footage on DV tape that I need to import and edit on the same timeline with some Canon DSLR HD footage. What format should I use or convert them to? ProRes? etc. I am using FCP Studio 7. Thanks.
