import to FCP from sony dcr sr82

I got a project from a client that is stored on his Sony sony dcr sr82. I am trying to import into FCP, but my powermac doesn't even recognize the camera. Maybe it is not compatible? Is there any way to import the video so I can edit it?

I don't have a manual to the camera.

You need to get software from the Sony web site which will mount the camera for you.
