XDcam (EX-1) 720p60 footage to 720x480i DVDSP Project ????? (July 02, 2008 02:23AM) btaylor
Having a tough time. I've gone through all the tutorials here,
but I'm missing a critical step at some stage.

I get everything right but the Progressive > Interlace issue.

Basically, how do I get progressive footage onto a DVD
that will be viewed on an interlaced display?

I've purchased Phil Hodget's HD Survival booklet yesterday
and I'm about to delve into it--but I'm soooo close!!!

Thanks Ken. Yes. I've got that part down, but my issue is that DVDSP shows my track
as being 720/480i.

In DVDSP preferences there is no progressive option for SD.
There is for HD DVD. Is that what I'm supposed to be making...
an SD HD DVD?

Again thanks Ken, I'm hot on the trail--I need to delve into DVDSP.

All SD DVDs are actually interlaced. Even if you are using Progressive, follow the article for SD DVDs. I have done this a number of times.

Why doesn't Compressor allow me to choose 59.94 as a frame rate?
My footage is 720p60, not 30p
Do I need to convert to 1080i.

You're saying, "NTSC, 29.97, 16:9, Progressive" MPEG-2(m2v)settings
will give me a proper SD DVD?
