Disc utility is not working (July 02, 2008 08:25AM) Arnie
My disc utility does not work. Under applications-utility's, instead of the disc utility logo, I have that triangle and when I double click it nothing happens. How can I restore my disc utility. Thank you, Arnie

Hi Arnie,

Do a 'Find' for Disk Utility, maybe it got moved.

Can you post a screen shot of the Utilities folder in the apps folder where you see the triangle?

Ken,
The triangle that I am reffering to is the logo of the pencil, brush and ruler that form a triangle. The Disc utility logo is different. So at some point the logo changed and now the program does not work. I did a search and it points to the same spot.

Reapir Permissions.

Do you have a disk utility like Disk Warrior that you can run on your boot drive?

I tried repairing permissions with disc warrior and it still does not work.

I meant to boot from Disk Warrior and repair the disk as well.

Do you have a CCC (clone) of your boot drive or are you running any backup software?
