Lost Snapping in Motion 2

Hi all, i seem to have lost snapping in Motion 2, i no longer get the yellow guide bars any more to align objects together, pressing N or choosing under the drop down menu doesn't help and i've tried trashing prefs. I'm under 10.4.11, QT 7.2 using Motion 2.1.2.

Can anybody help please?

PS: Guide bars are set to yellow under prefs, my background is always black.
