Re: leopard on a G4 ppc laptop, success eventually.

Just a heads up for those of you on a similar machine.
Installed leopard, got to the end, it told me leopard hadn't been installed because it could not instal ichat.
restarted, lo and behold I had leopard, about to browse for my stuff and got a kernel panic, gray screen of death,restarted, nervously moved around, opened apereture, kerneled out again, restarted, heart in my mouth, opened safari, got warning triangle tellling me safari couldn't be used with this OS, kerneled out again. Restarted, opened software update, updated everything, restarted and it seems stable at least for today. So don't panic if you instal it, try the software updates before using it.
Havent even attempted FCP or Compressor, afraid to at the moment, this nonsense took half of today already.

Don't forget to repair permissions after any upgrade or update.
