I was told at the Apple store I don't need a NTSC monitor for color correction. I was told to use (Pantone Huey) This does not sound correct to me. Any thoughts on this?

You need a NTSC or Pal monitor to monitor what the image is going to look like on a TV so yes you need a monitor to do color correction. Pantone Huey is used to adjust your monitor to correct color specifications. You can set up your monitor with color bars.
