Matrox mxo question

Hi Ken and all,
I just received my matrox mxo unit.
I'm running the latest OSX and quicktime 7.5, which I have heard is the cause of my problems calibrating the 23 apple monitor, which I can't do because I don't get any color bars on the proc amp setting..just a black screen. From what I have read its seems as though I need to downgrade 7.5 to 7.4..but what about the OSX, will the matrox run with the latest OSX and QT 7.4?

If I need to downgrade to QT 7.4 only is there an easy way other than reinstalling everything?

I have other setup questions, but I'll leave them until I get this sorted out.

Thanks Ken for the instructions on setting up the mxo...I have found it very helpful.

I am assuming that matrox are working towards fixing the compatability issues.

I decided to reinstall everything - forgot how long it takes!
I've installed OS 10.5.2 and QT 7.4.5 and have fcp 6.0.straight from the install dvd
How do I upgrade to 6.03 (which I need for my EX1)..do I need proapplication 2008-01 I can't seem to find it anywhere on the net for download. I downloaded proapp 2008-02 but it seems to have 6.04 which is not what I need at the moment.

Hi David,

Software Update will provide you incremental updates. Go for the 6.0.1 if it's there. After you install that you should be offered the next version. If you see the Proapps update, then yes you want that.

Move up slowly. FCP 6.0.3 will run on QT 7.4.5

Software update only provided me with the proapps update, but it is 2008-02..will this provide me with 6.03? or will it install 6.04 and then I'll need QT 7.5 to run it which will put me back where I started. Sorry to pester, but I want to make sure I get it right. If 6.01 to 6.03 doesn't appear in the software update, where could I get these from? I couldn't find them on the apple site when I logged in with apple ID and then gave my FCP serial no.

Hi David,

As I recall, you install the Proapps, then go back to Softare Update and you should see FCP 6.0.3.

I can only get proapps 2008-02 which installs 6.04.
I've searched all day and can't find proappr 2008-01 ..I might just have to wait until matrox find a solution for compatability b/w QT, OS and fcp 6.04.
