Re: Firewire Expansion

I am running a quad 2.5 G-5 PowerPc 8gigs ram 2 Video Cards .I have a large number of Firewire devises. Since mac uses the same bus for it's internal firewire an expander doesn't seem the way to go. Any suggestions for adding firewire PCI cards that will work with the mac.Have tried a Startech PCI Card but my mac doesn't seem to recognize it(Unknown device) and they won't work.

You have the right idea, an internal PCI Firewire card is the way to go.

You might want to get in touch with OWC to find out which card you can use.

Not sure about this but since i'm running 2 video cards does it matter which slot I mount the PCi Cards or the extra video cardin and in what order ??
OCW? not familiar with that.
