Re: 4x ATI Graphics Card

I just received my Mac Pro.
It has 4x ATI Radeon 2600.

What the heck is this for?
I think I ordered it by mistake. Will it assist in FCP editing Speed?

What would I possibly use this for?
Looks like I can connect eight separate monitors?

What I really want is one good Graphics Card. Any suggestions?

Motion, FCP, Photoshop, HDV editing

The fourth one down. ( see attached)
Quads are a mystery to me. The back of my Powermac has eight ports ( DVI )
So, the question stands. WHY? And what will I do with them?

I would like to take one out and replace with a higher end card. Will this work in concert with the others?

Not sure why you purchased such a 'fancy' monitor card. I'm not sure but I believe that those extra ports are for the ACD 30" which uses dual ports.

While I have no proof of this, I have read (though other forums) that more than one graphics card can cause problems with FCP's functionality. Do a search of the Apple FCP forum for more info.
