20 second DV clip taking 16 hours for smoothcam filter to analyze?

When I first was introduced to the smoothcam filter in FCP 6 I used it on DVC Pro HD footage, clips that were about 30-60 seconds long and it took only 2-3 minutes to analyze. Now just a year later and a few upgrades later I applied it to a 30 sec DV clip and it says 16 hours to analyze... why? Same system (Quad Core Mac pro w/ X1900XT and 6 Gigs of Ram) and all the same software FCS 2 with latest upgrades.
