Help-FCP reference movies issues.

Hi everyone.

I really need some answers.

I have been working in FCP 6. HDV video and sequence.

I have exported in out as a reference movie from FCP.

The Exported FCP movie file when played has internitent artifacts like pixels appear for just a milisecond when played with QT player and other players.

It is not there in playing the movie in the FCP sequence time line.

I must admit to never having this issue before and feeling a little stressed.

Can someone please explain this issue with my FCP reference movie?

Hi Ham,

Don't export as a Ref movie.

Export this way.

Select the Sequence in the Browser or in the Timeline, set In and Out points.

File > Export > QT (Not with Conversion). Make Self Contained, Use Current Settings, Do Not Recompress all frames.

I have done this.

The movie has the artifacts in play back....for a short period of time but every 10 seconds or so. You can't freeze frame the artifacts....it is only in the playing in QT.

Any ideas the cause?

Never happened before.

What is the final destination of this exported video, DVD?????

yes the final delivery in DVD export.

I was just concerned to see strange artifacts in the FCP export movie which I never seen before but could not freeze but only appears on playback in QT.

What are your sequence settings, and the specs of your Mac?
