8x or 16x DVd media?

With a Quad Core Macpro what is the best speed blank media I should purchase for use in my superdrive? I am going to follow the recommendation of this forum in terms of brand, but what is the recommendation in terms of write speed for the superdrive: 8X or 16X ?
