Great site.
I have a record company and own a copy of FCP studio but am a beginner (for all intents and purposes).
I do use compressor but get asked to convert files in all manner of different formats.
Would anyone be willing to help me get the settings up on compressor that I require as I get confused at the more detailed aspects?
In pre-empting your help these are conversions i need to do:
I have flip4mac installed for avi and the original file is an HD quicktime.

I am sorry, this all seems a bit confusing to me (and to others as well, I think).
So what is your exact question ?
1. You say you have an HD QT video you need to convert ? What kind of "HD" format is that exactly ? There are SO many HD formats and flavors nowadays. Is that your source video ?
2. You say 'the file format we get is an AVI DV PAL. Or is this your source video ?
3. What is the exact output format you want to get out of Compressor ? You mention AVI Uncompressed and MPEG2 Raw (there's no such thing). Is this correct ?
Please clarify your question and we will try to assist you.
Best wishes,
Ronny

Hi, sorry for the delay
My source file is
HD quicktime
1920×1080
Photo J Peg compression
25 fps
about 83% quality.
Different people/services ask for different types of file.
In my original post option1 has been asked by one company and option 2 by another.
The problem could be that their info is incorrect, but thats what i dont know.
does this help?
