new apple laptop specs

I've been asked to give a recommendation for a new mac laptop for FCP 6 that I already have. Please give me your optimum specs.

I bought a mac book pro
2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB memory
250GB hard drive1
Double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB
Upgraded the ram of course. It works well on the go. Still a little slow with Motion, but it gets the job done.

The 17" MacBook Pro has a powerful graphics card and can run Color.
