Re: extra monitor

Hi

i was hoping to get some direction on how i can use an extra monitor when editing. at the present moment i use apple's cinema screen with my mac pro but i would like to view my work in real time when producing my short films. often i have found that the final product that i produce on the FCP looks different when it is exported onto a DVD. hence i would like to know how i can go about connecting an extra screen to my mac pro and also viewing the work as i go along. is there a particular software that i need to purchase or has this question already been answered ? your advice will be most appreciated.

i was wondering that as i already have a High Performance PCI express card which contains the GPU that came with my Mac pro quad core, can i add an extra monitor or can i purchase another capture card. unfortunatley i can't afford to buy the Matrox device as i just finished paying £2000 for my machine?

Yes, you can add a second monitor to the monitor card that came with your Mac.
