Can't view 1080 24P Footage (August 21, 2008 08:13AM) Decaman3
Hello all,

I currently shot some footage with my HVX200 at 1080 24P and cannot see the footage on my final cut, or even on the quicktime files. I can hear the sound but the quicktime screen is black. Is there a codec or plug in I'm missing? I have QT 7.5 And FCP 5.1.4.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks!

when your saying you can't see it in your final cut, Do you mean your finished product after editing? (your final cut)
or your Final Cut Pro software program?

I cant see it on the FCP window (before the editing), nor when I put it on the timeline, nor on quicktime.
Any thoughts?

was your footage recorded to a P2 card?
and then you did a P2 import to your bin?

Yes. did shoot into P2. I did use another computer's FCP though. Basically my problem is that my QT and FCP is not reading 1080 24p clips, but does read 720 24p (From the same P2 card).
How can I get it to read 1080 24p?

I don't know about how to make QT read it. I don't mess with QT at all never exept to watch final results, but in FCP I'm kind of thinking that you can start a new session with the "easy setup" but that's just a thought and as of right now I'm not sure what the problem is ...
I guess you can stretch your browser window out a little and scroll over to see if your clips match your sequence settings. I think I would start there...
Does anyone else have anything?

Did you change the Recording Setup on the HVX200 to 1080 24p? Otherwise, if it's set on 720 24p, that's all it will read.
I don't know how that impacts the FCP "Log & Transfer" but I think it's a good starting point to check out.

Good luck.
