Thanks for the kudos. As it seems that most everyone is on vacation so I had a problem getting a 'peer' review done on the article. If there are any gaffs or something is not clear, please let me know.

BTW, I did side by side tests using Compressor, same video, same settings for H.264. The exports from QT and Compressor were virtually identical, in both size a quality.
